IT Medical Management April 2019 - September 2019
The IT Medical Management Organization is responsible for developing, integrating and maintaining the enterprise care management platform that enables Centene to effectively manage members to improve care and lower costs. I was selected to standup the team and to plan and develop the reporting functionality for the Next Generation of medical management software. To complete this effort, I was responsible for the collaboration of efforts between the data warehouse, the Medical Management Classic teams and the Medical Management Next Gen teams.

Off-Shore Vendor Management Process Development
*This effort was selected to as the pilot program to introduce off-shore vendors. As the first to go through the effort to contract with Off-Shore, I documented the processes and collaborated with different organizations, including security and infrastructure, to ensure a common process that met our security and compliance standards existed going forward.
Security Automation Test Focal for the DevSecOps Governance Team
*The DevSecOps Governance team was created to provide thought leadership and planning necessary to change the engineering culture of the company. The governance team’s goal is to introduce processes and practices that will improve application resiliency and introduce quality & security earlier into all application development efforts.
Tiger Team Lead March 2019 - May 2019
*The Tiger Team SRE standup and deployment project was an IT wide initiative to integrate the Infrastructure Monitoring, DevOps, Cyber Security Monitoring (Splunk), Call Center Application Development, Security Operations Center (SOC) and Incident Response & Operations Center (IROC) teams. As the Tiger Team Lead, I was responsible for identifying the leaders and SME’s for each organization, coordinate the planning and information sessions, and provide thought leadership to those involved in the efforts. I was responsible for understanding the motivations of my peers and partner organizations and working to ensure the successful adoption of the IT organizational transformation.
Predictive Platforms and Engineering Oct 2018 - April 2019
The DSPP&E organization’s role is to develop and maintain the platform for all Centene data scientists. I was selected to standup the organization responsible for integrating data science models and machine learning functionality and applications with new and existing enterprise applications. Our goal was to build machine learning into all new application development efforts. In this role, I developed the business plan and gained approval for the first application utilizing this model.
Quality Center of Excellence (Automation) Aug 2016 - Oct 2018
The Testing Services Organization was the centralized QA organization for all of Centene’s software development efforts. I was hired to introduce test automation, and build a vision that would take the organization into the future. Because there was almost no automated testing being used when I joined, there were many green fields in this role. I selected 5 testers with the most coding skills and hired 35 more automation engineers over the 2 years in the role. I led the team to develop an automated framework, parallel execution tool, and introduced an agile development process for developing automation. Once the team began producing quality automation, I concentrated on building a roadmap for the future of the Centene Test Platform, which consisted of a single testing tool Gui, Test Data Management, Parallel test execution system with scheduled and remote test launch capabilities, common repository (Bitbucket) and automated security testing capabilities.

The SBDM & SSG Plan/Build & Run transformation was an effort to organize application development and operational teams to gain efficiencies around common skills and efforts. I was selected to collaborate with fellow IT dev managers and engineers to develop a process that could be extended enterprise IT wide. The process that was developed, more closely resembles DevSecOps than a traditional “Plan/Build & Run” model.

Worked as analyst, tester and eventually, lead and Product Owner for two of the most critical information security initiatives at the time.
Automated tests, including security testing, which reduced over 20 hours of personal work, and 300 hours of team effort per week. Automation Valued at $.5 million/year.

The ITCFP was a highly selective rotation program designed to give top IT college new hires the opportunity to rotate through 4 IT Functions over a two-year period. Along with the opportunity to learn first-hand which teams and roles will fit each participant best, the participants also have the opportunity to attend the Boeing Leadership Center for leadership training and are assigned executive mentors whose relationships generally last long past graduation. Upon completion of the program, graduates are able to select between available roles within the IT organization.
